Cubic Zirconia vs. Diamonds

With our cubic zirconia you get the look of genuine fine diamond jewelry at a fraction of the price—all the brilliance and fire of a diamond without the worry. Travel freely without fear of losing thousands of dollars, and every loose stone we sell is backed for a lifetime.

The Advantages of Cubic Zirconia

Russian CZ has the brilliance and fire of a diamond and costs thousands less. You get the same everyday luxury and beauty as fine diamond jewelry—without the price, the worry, or the hassle.

What Is Cubic Zirconia?

Cubic zirconia (CZ) is a synthetic gemstone (ZrO2) used in jewelry as a diamond simulant. It is extremely hard—rating 8.5 on the Mohs scale—and to the naked eye it is flawless and colorless. It can also be created in fancy colors such as pink, champagne, and yellow. Thanks to its durability and diamond-like appearance, CZ has been the most important diamond simulant since 1976.

Russian CZ — Gem Quality

Just as there are many grades of diamond, there are many grades of cubic zirconia. Our Russian CZs are selected from the finest CZ crystals and hand-cut and polished to the exact diamond-cutting standards set by the GIA (Gemological Institute of America). The result is a noticeable difference from ordinary, mass-produced CZ: superior brilliance, luster, and a dispersion (fire) even greater than a diamond’s. When compared to fine diamonds, many experts cannot tell the difference without specialized gemological equipment.

CZ vs. Other “Fake Diamonds”

Russian cubic zirconia and moissanite are the two most common diamond alternatives. Don’t be fooled by fancy brand names—our Russian CZ has all the durability, fire, luster, and brilliance of advertised names like Diamonique, Russian Ice, and Ziamond, which are simply CZ with a premium label.

Caring for Your CZ Jewelry

CZ set in 14k gold or platinum can be worn every day. Keep it looking its best: remove jewelry during heavy work (even a diamond can chip if struck), and take pieces off before showering, cleaning, or applying makeup—soap and cosmetics leave a film that dims the sparkle. A gentle cleaning restores the fire and brilliance.
