About Russian Cubic Zirconia

Everything you need to know about our gem-quality Russian cubic zirconia—how it’s graded, the cuts we offer, how each stone is hand-finished, and how to care for your jewelry.

Gem-Quality Russian CZ

Our Russian CZs are the finest cubic zirconia available. Experienced cutters facet and hand-polish each stone from the finest CZ crystals to the same specifications diamonds are held to (GIA standards), for maximum brilliance and fire. That superior cutting and polishing is the noticeable difference between our Russian CZ and conventional, commercially cut CZ.

Cubic Zirconia Cuts & Shapes

We offer today’s most popular cuts:

  • Round Brilliant — the classic 58-facet cut that reflects the most light.
  • Princess — a four-sided square brilliant with pointed corners.
  • Radiant / Emerald — rectangular, fully faceted for brilliance and classic elegance.
  • Marquise — an elongated brilliant with a point at each end.
  • Pear — a teardrop that blends round brilliance with marquise elegance.
  • Oval — round-brilliant sparkle in an elongated silhouette.
  • Cushion & Asscher — vintage-inspired step and pillow cuts.
  • Heart — a fanciful, romantic shape.

Available in brilliant white plus fancy yellow, champagne, and pink (other colors and shapes by special order).

How Cubic Zirconia Is Cut

Each stone is hand-cut in eight steps: large CZ crystals are cut into “preforms,” attached to a “dop” guidance tool, then the pavilion (lower portion) is ground, the girdle (edge) cut and polished, the pavilion facets cut and polished, and finally the crown (top) facets cut and the table polished—the same precise process used for fine gemstones.

About 14k Gold

Pure gold is 24k and naturally yellow, but too soft for daily wear, so it is alloyed for durability. 14k yellow gold is about 60% pure gold mixed with metals such as copper and silver—the most popular karat in the United States and an ideal balance of richness and strength. 14k white gold mixes gold with white metals in the same ratio and is rhodium-plated for a bright, platinum-like finish. Gold does not rust or tarnish; simply remove jewelry before using cleaning chemicals.

Durability & Care

CZ rates 8.5 on the Mohs scale and, set in solid 14k gold or platinum, wears beautifully every day. Keep it clean and sparkling, and remove pieces before heavy work or applying lotions and cosmetics.
